PREAMBLE:
That Nib-key had this dream truly excited me to no end as I beleive Tim intentionally reveals himself to me and others through Dreams. Likewise, due to the closeness of mine and Tim's friendship in the past, I feel that he reveals himself through others around ME for MY own benefit when Tim feels something must be conveyed to me at a particular time, and that I will recognize this contact is coming uniquely from him.
BACKGROUND:
Tim always held a huge focus on dreaming. He used to reserve something like 10 hours a day for sleep so that he could properly dream. Not that Tim's clock was on an ordinary night/day schedule by any measure. Whenever he felt he was suffciently clean, undressed and prepared for sleep would he then take these long unconscious journeys. If he was so overly fatigued from lack of sleep, he would uncontrollably fall asleep fully dressed and 'unprepared' for sleep/dreaming. Of course there were variations for why and when he'd devote time for sleep and others when he was pressed for time. However, Tim's unique devotion to sleep was so often taken to these extreme levels that it prevented him from ever finding regular employment. He usually wanted to stay up all night and sleep until the end of the day when the sun was setting. Some of his reasoning revovled around the household schedule of calm and Tim's ideals therein. Tim's schedule conflicted with the world-at-large's schedule in reality. Tim often 'missed' the entire day when he could have been awake and submitting applications or meeting interviewers. On numerous ocassions, for example, after I had returned from work of some kind and as most people were just heading home from a day of work, Tim would ask me to drive him around to, Toys R' Us or the 'comicbook-shop in Kirkwood' so that he could place an application for the umpteenth time. So sleeping + dreaming are of importance, above and beyond the ordinary to Tim, yes. No doubt that sleeping and dreaming are crucial to all beings, yes. For Tim, it was more a matter of existence taken so rigidly, that he often allowed it to affect him financially and it likely took and undetermined psychological toll that may only be speculated upon. Sleep well you Ghost!
DREAM:
In the dream Nib-key had, he was is in some semi-crowded outdoor place of no description that he could recall. Nib-key looks over and sees Tim on a park bench. Nib-key says, "Holy Cow, Where have you been for the like the last 20 years?" to which Tim replied, in the same vocal accent* used by Charlie Dog (from a particular 1949 Warner Brother's, Porky Pig cartoon, entitled "The Awful Orphan"**, see images.) "Ah, the places I've been, the things I've seen." --end of dream.

NOTES:
    * Nib-key reported (and re-enacted) in his recollection of this dream that the accent used by Tim when quoting this line, "was the same as the 'Scottish' accent that 'Charlie the Dog' used" in the cartoon. In fact the accent was not Scottish. In the course of events, Charlie Dog was tricked by Porky Pig into having a paper-pattern taken of him for measurments of a suit that Porky would presumably hand-tailor for Charlie Dog. Instead Porky uses the paper to wrap Charlie Dog up as a parcel, deposits the parcel into a curb side mailbox and mails Charlie Dog off to Siberia with no visible return address. Charlie Dog returns soon thereafter dressed in a Cossack costume and spoke the line quoted in the dream with a noticably fake yet distinct French-English accent. CORRECTION: Nib-key has provided further evidence to the existence of a Scottish version of Charlie Dog. What follows is Nib-key's follow-up message clarifying his dream vision and what is a real citable toon. Hence the above clips will be updated as soon as stills can be obtained for the proper illustration. - krispy Date: Tue, 9 Nov 2004 12:33:09 -0800 (PST) From: Nib-key Subject:Re: The Awful Orphan TO: krispy Dear Krispy, 'Ello again. It was great to see that clip. Thanks! You know what, though? There were two different times that same gag was used with the same characters. There's the one you mentioned "The Awful Orphan", with the (pictures), and there is the other picture, named "Often an orphan," in which he is mailed off to Scotland and comes back with bag pipes (I think he was also mailed to Australia in a different picture, making him seem to be the world's most mailed mutt). Charlie Dog has always been one of my favorite characters (along with Hubie and "Bertie," whom we like to refer to as "Boyd,"), but I think he is only in three or four cartoons (Hubie and Boyd were in six, I believe, the same number as my other favorite character, Screwball Squirrel). Alas, when are the other three Hubie toons going to make it to dvd? Thanks again. Love, NKetc. ** In the short, 'The Awful Orphan' Porky tries to the point of frustrated rage to get rid of a pesky Charlie Dog who is attempting to foist himself upon a would be pet owner, Porky who originally orders a Canary from a pet store's delivery service. Charlie Dog sqeezes into the small Canary birds cage and begins his assault on Porky's otherwise quiet and comfortable life-style in his high-rise apartment.
